abstract | PURPOSE: To collect CH 3 CHO from a culture material advantageously, by cultivating a bacterium belonging to the genus Pseudomonas, capable of producing CH 3 CHO, by the use of CH 3 OH as a carbon source. n CONSTITUTION: The bacterium is cultivated in a medium containing CH 3 OH as a carbon source, an ammonium salt as a nitrogen source, and, if necessary, inorganic substances such as various phosphates, sulfate, etc. The cultivation is usually carried out for about 12hrW10 days generally under aerobic conditions. The pH of the medium is 4W10, and the temperature is about 20W40°C. In production of CH 3 CHO, either of vegetative mold or a resting mold can be used. In collecting CH 3 CHO from the culture material, and purifying it, a method applicable to collection and purification of common organic compounds can be generally employed. For example, Pseudomonas extorquens A-1439(FERM P-7021), etc., may be cited as the bacterium used in this invention. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
