titleOfInvention Production of polysulfone hollow membrane
abstract PURPOSE: To produce a polysulfone hollow membrane for gas sepn. having good separating characteristic by discharging a polysulfone polymer dissolved in hexamethyl phosphoramide from an annular nozzle. n CONSTITUTION: Aliphat. or arom. polysulfone having 5,000W100,000 average mol.wet. is dissolved in hexamethyl phosphoramid or the solvent mixture thereof to prepare a polymer soln. for spinning. The polymer concn. is preferably 17W50wt% and the viscosity is 1,000W100,000cps at 30°C. The raw liquid temp. is kept at 50W200°C. Such raw liquid is discharged from a hollow yarn spinning port and is brought into contact with a solidifying liquid which mixes intimately with the raw liquid solvent but does not dissolve the polymer to desolvate the yarn. The inside of the hollow yarn may be the solidifying liquid or gas. The temp. is maintained at ≤30°C. The spinning speed is set at 1W50m/min. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
