abstract PURPOSE:To simply prepare a microcapsule, by compounding a specific amount of a monomer component consisting of a hydrophilic monomer and a closslinkable monomer, and an oily substance coming to a core material to prepare a suspension and polymerizing the monomer component of said suspension. CONSTITUTION:A suspension, in which 100pts.wt. of a monomer component consisting of 5-70pts.wt. of a hydrophilic monomer and 1-40pts.wt. of a crosslinkable monomer, and 1-1,000pts. of an oily substance for constituting a core material coexist, is prepared. In this state, the monomer component is polymerized in the presence of a polymerization initiator to form a polymer outer shell to the surface of each core material particle to obtain a microcapsule. As the hydrophilic monomer, there are vinyl pyridine, glycidyl methacrylate or methyl methacrylate and, as the oily substance for constituting the core material, an oleophilic one, of which the solubility to water is 0.2wt% or less, may be used.
