titleOfInvention | Production of polyester having excellent transparency |
abstract | PURPOSE: To produce a polyester having excellent transparency and high softening point, and suitable for photograhic film and magnetic recording tape, etc., in high productivity, by using an Mg or Mn compound, an alkali metal compound, a P compound, and an Sb and Ge compound at specific ratios. n CONSTITUTION: A glycol-soluble Mg or Mn compound (e.g. Mg oxalate) and an alkali metal compound such as LiOH are added at a ratio of formula I [M is total molar number of Mg and Mn compound (per 10 6 g of polyester); A is total molar number of alkali metal compound] to the polymerization system until the intrinsic viscosity of the polymer reaches 0.2, and then a P compound such as phosphoric acid is added to the system in an amount corresponding to the formula 0.8≤(M+0.5A)/P≤5. Thereafter, the polymerization is continued by adding antimony trioxide, etc. in an amount defined by formula II (Sb is total molar number of Sb compound) and germanium oxide, etc., in an amount defined by formula III (Ge is total molar number of Ge compound), to obtain the objective polymer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
