titleOfInvention Removal of nitrogen oxide
abstract PURPOSE: To perform denitration with good efficiency even in an oxidative atmosphere, by providing electrodes to both surfaces of a solid electrolyte body so as to allow the same to face to gas to be treated and applying DC or AC voltage between electrodes. n CONSTITUTION: A NOx decomposition apparatus 1 consists of a bottomed cylindrical solid electrolyte body 2 and the platinum electrodes 31, 32 provided to both surfaces of said electrode body 2 and a DC power source 5 is connected to the electrodes 31, 32 by copper lead wires 51, 52 to form positive and negative electrodes. The gas to be treated enters from a suction nozzle 61 and contacted with the decomposition apparatus 1 to be exhausted from an exhaust nozzle 63. The gas to be treated receives the application of the voltage from the decomposition apparatus 1 and NOx is decomposed. AC voltage can be used in place of DC voltage. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
