titleOfInvention Detection of mutagen-oriented substance
abstract PURPOSE:To simplify the detecting operation, by measuring very weak luminous intensity of a sample. CONSTITUTION:There are two kinds of mutagen-oriented substances, the one requiring metabolic activation by S-9 and the other, none. It was found that the results of measurement of four compounds in the former and two in the latter employing an improved method by Yasaku and others on the method by Ames and others showed the same tendency as the results employing the measurement of very weak luminescence, which indicates a high correlation as given by correlation cofficient=0.993. The measurement of very weak luminescence also reveels the effect of checking the mutagen orientation of hemin and mutagen oriented substance benzperylene of beta-carotene. Thus, the measurement of very weak luminescence is applicable for the detection of mutagen- oriented substance.
