titleOfInvention Optical resin material
abstract PURPOSE: An optical resin material excellent in optical dispersion, low hygroscopicity and heat resistance and suitable for optical elements, comprising a polymer obtained by polymerizing a specified (meth)acrylate with another monomer copolymerizable therewith. n CONSTITUTION: A polymer as the title optical resin material is obtained by polymerizing 100W5wt% compound of the formula (wherein R is H or methyl), e.g., tricyclodecyl (meth)acrylate, with 0W95wt% other monomers copoly merizable therewith (e.g., unsaturated fatty acid esters, aromatic vinyl compounds, unsaturated dibasic acids and their derivatives) by a usual method. The above polymer which has a saturation water absorption ≤1.8%, an Abbes' number ≥45 and a glass transition point ≥100°C is suitable as a material for optical elements. Said optical resin material can be formed into optical elements by a usual molding process such as injection molding, compression molding or casting. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
