titleOfInvention | Antipruritic composition |
abstract | PURPOSE: To provide an antipruritic composition for external use, containing an oil having a melting point of lower than a specific temperature, as a base, and exhibiting remarkable effect at a low content of the antipruritic agent. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be prepared by compounding (A) an antipruritic agent such as diphenhydramine, diphenhydramine laurylsulfate, ethyl aminobenzoate, etc. with (B) an oil having a melting point of ≤45°C, preferably ≤37°C, especially olive oil, magnolia oil, camellia oil, squalane, α-olefin oligomer, 2-ethylhexanoic acid, isostearic acid, 2-ethylhexanoic acid triglyceride, isostearic acid triglyceride, etc., and preferably (C) 5W50% silicone oil based on the whole composition. Sufficient effect can be attained by using the antipruritic agent in an amount of 1/2W1/100 times the conventional preparation (usually 0.01W0.00001% of the whole composition), or 1/10W1/500 times the conventional preparation in the case of using a silicone oil. The side effect of the agent can be mitigated. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
