titleOfInvention Surface treatment of metal
abstract PURPOSE:To provide an excellent waterproof effect by projecting an iron-zinc blast material to the surface of iron (alloy to form a zinc coating film and subjecting further the surface to a nonaqueous chromate treatment. CONSTITUTION:The blast material consisting of the assemblage of the indepen dent particles formed by using the iron (alloy) as a nucleus and depositing zinc (alloy) via an iron zinc alloy layer around the same is projected to the surface of the iron or iron alloy to form the zinc coating film. The coated surface is subjected to the nonaqueous chromate treatment. Hydrocarbon contg. chlorine and fluorine of several 1-2 C, for example, trichloroethylene, trichlorotrifluoroethane, etc., are used for the org. solvent to be used for the nonaqueous chromate treatment. This method is the nonaqueous treatment and does not require a measure for waste water treatment. The highly corrosion resistant film is thus inexpensively formed.
