titleOfInvention Preparation of vanishing cream
abstract PURPOSE:To prepare a cream effective to prevent the skin from chapping, by adding crude oryzanol to a cream based on potassium soap or sodium soap of a higher fatty acid after saponification, mixing thoroughly under melting, and adjusting the pH of the mixture with dilute acetic acid. CONSTITUTION:A higher fatty acid is saponified with caustic potash or caustic soda, added with crude oryzanol having a melting point of about 100 deg.C, mixed thoroughly under melting, and adjusted to about 10pH with dilute acetic acid to obtain the ojbective vanishing cream. When the oryzanol is added at the initial stage of the preparation process, the effect of the oriysanol is lowered by the reaction with caustic potash or caustic soda, and accordingly, it is necessary to add oryzanol after the completion of the saponification reaction. The saponification is carried out at about 90 deg.C. Since the melting point of refined oryzanol is as high as 170 deg.C, a crude oryzanol having a melting point of about 100 deg.C is used as the component.
