titleOfInvention Resin composition
abstract PURPOSE: To a provide a resin compsn. having excellent physical properties such as mechanical strength and suitable for use as a molding material and paints, by blending an inorg. filler having a surface treated with a graft polymer contg. macromonomer units as its branch component, with a synthetic resin. n CONSTITUTION: A macromonomer contg. a polymerizable functional group (e.g. methacryloyloxy group) at one terminal thereof and a radical-polymerizable monomer (e.g. acrylic acid or acrylamide) are copolymerized to prepare a graft polymer contg. macromonomer units as its branch component. The surface of an inorg. filler (e.g. talc or glass flake) is treated with said graft polymer, and the filler is then blended with a synthetic resin (e.g. phenolic resin or polystyrene) to obtain the desired resin compsn. By the action of the graft polymer, the resin and the filler are firmly bonded to each other. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
