titleOfInvention Melt-spinning of polyester fiber
abstract PURPOSE: A certain amount of a specific compound is added during the polycondensation of polyethylene terephthalate to form a polymer with intrinsic viscosity in a specific range after completion of polycondensation and the polymer is used to prevent yarn breakage in high-speed melt spinning. n CONSTITUTION: When a polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as a major constitution unit is melt-extruded at a taking-up speed over 4,500m/min, more than 0.01mol%, preferably 1W5mol%, based on the acid components, of a compound of the formula (X, Y are H or alkyl) are added at an arbitrary stage before completion of polycondensation to form a polymer having an intrinsic viscosity ranging from 0.55W0.70, measured in o-chlorophenol at 30°C and the resultant polymer is used. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
