titleOfInvention Reagent for determining collagenase activity
abstract PURPOSE: A reagent for measuring collagenase activity in blood is composed of a fluorescent substance and a peptide which is hydrolyzed by collagenase to form a substance developing fluorescence together with the fluorescent substance, thus enabling high-sensitivity measurement of collagenase activity. n CONSTITUTION: A substance causing fluorescence of a fluorescent substance, such as fluorescein and rhodamin, rhodamin and luminol, peroxidase to luminol and hydrogen peroxide is allowed to link to peptide of collagen. The way to bond them can be decided depending on both functional groups and the product is purified after the reaction and dried. The resultant reagent is dissolved in a solution of an appropriate concentration and a sample containing collagenase to be determined is added to the solution to activate the fluorescent substance. Then, the fluorescence is measured by means of a fluorophotometer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
