titleOfInvention Production of flame-retarding polytetramethylene terephthalate copolymer
abstract PURPOSE: To produce the titled flame-retarding copolymer of good heat stability, by performing polymerization of a diglycidyl compound and a specified halogen compound as comonomers in the production of a polyester by a specified reaction by heating. n CONSTITUTION: In the production of a copolyester, a terephthalic acid-based aromatic dicarboxylic acid or its, esterifiable derivative is reacted with tetramethylene glycol by heating in the presence of comonomers comprising a diglycidyl compound (e.g., bisphenol A diglycidyl ether) and a halogen compound of formula I (wherein X is alkylene, cycloalkylene, alkylidene, O or SO 2 , Y is a halogen, l is 0 or 1, m and n are each 0W4 and m+n≥1), e.g., a compound of formula II. It is possible to produce stably the titled copolymer having excellent moldability and property inherent in polytetramethylene terephthalate, durable excellent flame retardancy and good heat stability. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
