titleOfInvention Method of extracting indole
abstract PURPOSE: To extract indoles from a mixture comprising indoles and hydrocarbons as main component, by using an extractant obtained by blending an amine, an alkylsulfoxide, and/or pyrrolidone with a specific amount of water. n CONSTITUTION: In extracting indoles from a mixture comprising indoles and hydrocarbons, such as a coal tar fraction containing indoles having ≤270°C boiling point preferably obtained by distillation of coal tar, or a substance obtained by removing an acidic component and/or a basic component from the fraction, an extractant is obtained by blending 100pts.wt. one or more organic solvents (preferably monoethanolamine, etc.) selected from amines, alkyl sulfoxides, and pyrrolidones with 1W25pts.wt. water, and used. Especially the extractant is used as the first extractant, and a nonpolar solvent such as 5W10C alkanes, etc. is used as the second extractant, to raise the selectivity for the aimed compound without causing problems such as corrosion of device and requiring complicated purifying operations. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
