titleOfInvention Method and apparatus for manufacturing fine particle
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled high-purity fine particles having uniform particle diameter without classifying the particles by supplying >=2 kinds of substances in a gaseous state separately into a chamber under vacuum, and allowing the gases to react with each other. CONSTITUTION:The inside of a chamber 6 is made to vacuum by a vacuum pump 14. The vaporized component of TiCl4, etc. in a vessek 1 is supplied to the chamber 6 through a pipe 8 with gaseous nitrogen from a gas cylinder 5. The water in a vessel 2 is heated by a heater 10, vaporized, and supplied as steam to the chamber 6 through a pipe 11. The steam after passing through the pipe 11 is diffused toward the leading end of the pipe 8. Gaseous nitrogen contg. TiCl4 is spouted from the leading end of the pipe 8 into said diffused part. At this time, white fine particles of TiO2 are formed by chemical reaction. The TiO2 is collected in a collector 9. Although a part of TiO2 and gaseous nitrogen are collected by a vacuum pump 14, the performance of the vacuum pump 14 is not deteriorated, because the TiO2 and gaseous HCl are removed by a trap 16.
