titleOfInvention Production of polyester
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester which can give a film excellent in easy slidability, abrasion resistance and workability, by transesterifying terephthalic acid or the like with a glycol, adding a specified particulate substance and a specified metal compound to the reaction system and polycondensing the mixture. n CONSTITUTION: Terephthalic acid (its esterifiable derivative) is esterified or transesterified with a glycol. To this reaction system, a slurry obtained by placing 0.005W2.0wt% particulate substance being insoluble in the system and having a specific surface area ≥5m 2 /g (e.g., SiO 2 ) in an ethylene glycol solution of 0.05W2mol%, based on the particulate substance, phosphorus compound (e.g., phosphorous acid) and subjecting the mixture to dispersion treatment and 0.01W 2wt% at least one alkali (alkaline earth) metal compound (e.g., lithium acetate) for precipitating the particles are added in amounts to provide a weight ratio of the particulate substance to the prepitated particle of 0.1W50 and the reaction mixture is polycondensed at a high temperature in vacuum. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
