titleOfInvention | Production of 6-halogeno-hydroxyquinoxaline |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate for drugs, agricultural chemicals, dye, etc. in reduced short process advantageously, by using a 6-halogenoquinoxaline as a raw material, and oxidizing it directly with a proxide in a lower fatty alcohol solvent. n CONSTITUTION: 1pt.wt. 6-halogenoquinoxaline is dissolved in preferably 0.5W 20pts.wt. 1W4C lower fatty alcohol, and oxidized with a peroxide, to give the aimed compound. An amount of the peroxide used is 0.5W2 equivalents based on the 6-halogenoquinoxaline. The peroxide may be added once or may be gradually dropped. When the reaction is slow, an acidic substance may be added as a catalyst, sulfuric acid, p-toluenesulfonic acid, etc. are used as the acidic substance, and 0.1W5wt% acidic substance is added to the fatty lower alcohol. Hydrogen peroxide, perbenzoic acid, etc. are preferable as the peroxide. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
