abstract PURPOSE: The titled molded article, obtained by dispersing fine particles of a phosphorus compound of an alkali (earth) metal in a polyester, having improved gas barrier properties and weather resistance, and suitable for agricultural, photographic and decorative films, etc. and containers for carbonated beverages, seasonings, cosmetics, etc. n CONSTITUTION: A molded article of a polyester obtained by polymerizing (A) terephthalic acid as a principal acid component with (B) ethylene glycol as a principal glycol component, and adding (C) 0.3W3wt% phosphorus compound, expressed by the formula (R is H or monofunctional organic group; X is OH, monofunctional organic group, etc.; Q is H, alkali metal, etc.; n is 1 or 0), and having ≤0.1μm particle diameter, e.g. calcium phosphate, (D) an acetate of an alkali (earth) metal, e.g. Ca or Ba, and (E) an ammonium compound, e.g. ammonium hydroxide, and/or quaternary phosphonium salt compound, e.g. tetramethylphosphonium chloride, to the reaction mixture before completing the reaction to give the aimed polyester having 0.3W0.5 intrinsic viscosity. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
