titleOfInvention Preparation of pyruvic acid
abstract PURPOSE: To preparea remarkable amount of pyruvic acid, by cultivating a microorganism belonging to the genus Alcaligenes, Bacillus, etc. in a culture medium containing fumaric acid present therein in preparing the pyruvic acid using the microorganism. n CONSTITUTION: A microorganism, having the ability to convert fumaric acid into pyruvic acid, and belonging to the genus Alcaligenes, Agrobacterium, Brevibacterium, Bacillus, Citrobacter, Escherichia, Enterobacter, Erwinia, Micrococcus, Pseudomonas, Serratia, Salmonella, Klebsiella, etc. is cultivated in the presence of fumaric acid. Alternatively, the resultant microbial cells, etc. obtained by cultivation are reacted in an aqueous solution containing the fumaric acid to produce the pyruvic acid in the culture fluid or aqueous solution, and the pyruvic acid is collected. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
