titleOfInvention Manufacture of yarn for machine sewing polyester thread
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled yarn having excellent dyeability, high-speed sewing suitability and strength, by spinning polyethylene terephthalate at a specific speed to obtain an undrawn yarn, and carrying out the one-step drawing and heat-treatment under a condition to give specific breaking strength, breaking elongation and boiling water shrinkage. CONSTITUTION:An undrawn polyester yarn composed of polyethylene terephthalate and having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.6-1.0 is taken up at a spinning speed of 2,000-4,500m/min. In the above process, the undrawn polyester yarn is conditioned under the condition satisfying 3,000<=S.Sp<=4,000 [S.Sp is spinning speed (m/min)] in the case of 0.60<=[eta]f<0.70 ([eta]f is the intrinsic viscosity of polyester constituting the undrawn yarn), 2,000<=S.Sp<=4,000 in the case of 0.70<=[eta]f< 0.80, and 2,000<=S.Sp <=4,500 in the case of 0.80<=[eta]f<=1.00. The conditioned yarn is subjected to the one- step drawing and heat-treatment under the condition to give the breaking strength of >=6.0g/d, breaking elongation of 10-25% and boiling water shrinkage of <=2.5%, to obtain the objective yarn.
