abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a filter absorbing well infrared rays, transmitting well visible light and having high compatibility with plastics and superior stability such as light resistance by incorporating a specified complex of an o-dimercaptobenzene deriv. into a plastic film. n CONSTITUTION: A compound represented by the formula (where M is Cu, Co, Ni, Pd or Pt, Cat is a cation neutralizing the complex, each of R 1 WR 4 is H, amino, halogen, CN, OH, alkyl, aryl or a heterocyclic group, in case of the alkyl, aryl or heterocyclic group, a bivalent combining group may be present between the group and the benzene ring, and one or more among R 1 WR 4 are electron donative groups) is added to a synthetic resin such as polyester or polystyrene or a binder such as gelatin. The compound can absorb infrared light of ≥about 900nm wavelengths without spoiling the transmissivity of visible light.
