abstract PURPOSE: To improve the microbial resistance of the titled composition, by coating a squalane compound useful for base of a cosmetic raw material, etc. with gum arabic, carrageenan, sodium alginate or/and carboxymethyl cellulose. n CONSTITUTION: A powdery composition obtained by coating one or more squalane compounds selected from squalane, squalene, liquid paraffin, liquid polybutene, liquid lanolin, 2-octyldodecyl myristate, isotridecyl myristate and hexadecyl 2-ethylhexanoate with one or more coating components selected from gum arabic, carrageenan, sodium alginate and carboxymethyl cellulose, and having powerful microbial resistance, and capable of exuding the base component by easily breaking the coat thereof with impact, e.g. rubbing to the skin, without causing spoilage nor molds, and exhibiting the protecting effect on the skin, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
