titleOfInvention Production of diorganotin oxide
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled high-purity substance useful as a stabilizer for PVC resin or an organic synthetic catalyst, by hydrolyzing a diorganotin dihalide or a mixture of it and an organotin halide with an aqueous solution of an alkali metallic hydroxide, etc., in a chlorine organic solvent. n CONSTITUTION: (A) A diorganotin dihalide shown by the formula R 2 SnX 2 (R is 1W8C alkyl, phenyl or cyclohexyl; X is halogen) or (B) a mixture of the component A and an organotin halide shown by the formula R p SnX q (p and q are 0, 1, 3 or 4 with the proviso that p+q=4) is hydrolyzed with an aqueous solution of an alkali metallic hydroxide or ammonium hydroxide in a chlorine organic solvent (e.g., 1,1,1-trichloro-ethane, etc.), to give the aimed compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
