titleOfInvention | Ethanol sensor |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a sensor having high specificness and excellent selectivity for ethanol by using an acetobacter cell membrane in which alcohol dehydrogenase and aldehyde hydrogenase exist. n CONSTITUTION: A reference electrode 1 and pH electrode 2 which are usually used for pH measurement are connected respectively via lead wires to an ampli fier 3. The constritution in which the amplifier 3 is connected to a recorder 4 by lead wires is used. The electrode 2 is constituted by forming an acetobacter cell membrane fraction immobilized film 6 on the gate surface of an ion sensi tive field effect type transistor (ISFET) 5. The calibration curve indicating the relation between an ethanol concn. and potential difference is first made by determining the potential difference between the potential when the change of the output from the sensor is stationary and the potential right after immer sion. The ethanol sensor is thereafter immersed into a sample liquid contg. an ethanol having an unknown concn. and the potential difference is determined. The ethanol concn. corresponding to said value is read from the previously made calibration curve, by which the ethanol concn. of the sample liquid is known. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
