NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (X and Y are H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, etc.; R is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, etc.; R' is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, H, etc.). n EXAMPLE: N-( 3-Chloro-4-ethoxy-5-methoxymethylphenyl )-N'-methoxyformamidi ne. n USE: Fungicide for agricultural and horticultural use. It exhibits strong fungicidal activity against various resistant pathogens of e.g. powdery mildew, scab, etc., of apple.
