PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester fiber having a number of minute pores smaller than the wavelength of visible light, by adding inert fine particles to a cation dyeable polyester copolymerized with a m-metal-sulfobenzoic acid component, forming a fiber therefrom, and thinning the fiber with an alkali. n CONSTITUTION: A fiber is produced from a polyester containing 0.1W5wt% inert fine particles having an average primary particle diameter of ≤100mμ and blocked at least a part of the terminals with the compound of formula IWformula III (A 1 WA 4 are ester-forming functional group; R 1 WR 4 are H, OH, alkyl or halogen; M 1 WM 4 are metal; k and l are 1 or 2; m and n are integer of 0W2; 1≤m+n≤4; p and q are 0 or 1; p+q=1; a and b are positive integer; m+a+p=5; n+b+q=5). The fiber is thinned by treating with an alkali. A number of minute pores having low orientation along the fiber axis, nearly circular shape and a diameter smaller than the wavelength of visible light are formed on the fiber by this process. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
