abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [X is Cl or CF 3 ; Y is Cl or CH 3 ; Z is bifunctional ≤4C aliphatic hydrocarbon; R 1 is H, ≤4C saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon, phenyl, benzyl, etc.; R 2 is OR 3 , formula II (R 3 is ≤15C aliphatic hydrocarbon, phenyl, etc.; R 4 and R 5 are H, ≤6C saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon, etc.); R 6 is H, ≤4C saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon, etc.; n is 0, 1 or 2]. n USE: A herbicide capable of exhibiting improved herbicidal effect particularly on Erigeron annuus Pers. (annual fleabane), Chenopodium album L. var. centrorubrum Makino, weeds of the family Polygonaceae, Portulaca oleracea L. (common purslane), etc., without adversely affecting crops, e.g. rice plant and corn. n PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula III is reacted with a compound expressed by formula IV in the presence of a base, e.g. trimethylamine, in a solvent, e.g. benzene or toluene, at -70W+100°C, preferably -30W+70°C to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
