abstract | NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (X and Y are H, Cl or methyl; Z is H, Cl, cyano or trifluoromethyl). n EXAMPLE: N-(2-methyl-4-nitrophenyl)benzenesulfonamide. n USE: An agricultural fungicide. It exhibits excellent controlling effect especially against clubroot of vegetables of Cruciferae family, common scab of potato, and various soil blights caused by aphanomycete. It has high activity at a low dose and gives little environmental pollution. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting the compound of formula II with the compound of formula III in the presence of a base (e.g. pyridine) in a solvent (e.g. dichlorobenzene) at 110W180°C for 5W15hr. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
