titleOfInvention Production of 1,4-bis(3-aminophenoxy)benzene
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as a raw material of heat- resistant polymer, in high yield, by condensing hydroquinone with m- dinitrobenzene in the presence of a base using an aprotic polar solvent, and reducing the condensation product. n CONSTITUTION: Hydroquinone is condensed with m-dinitrobenzene in the presence of a base (e.g. NaOH) using an aprotic polar solvent (e.g. N-methylformamide), and the product is reduced to obtain 1,4-bis(3-aminophenoxy)benzene. The condensation reaction gives 1,4-bis(3-nitrophenoxy)benzene in high yield, and the objective compound is produced easily at a low cost by the second-stage reduction process. The reduction is preferably carried out by catalytic reduction or reduction with hydrazine from industrial viewpoint. n USE: Raw material of heat-resistant polymers such as polyamide, polyamide-imide, polyimide, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
