titleOfInvention Biosensor
abstract PURPOSE: To make possible the miniaturization of a biosensor with simple constitution by providing electrodes consisting of noble metals to a part of the printed part of a printed wiring board. n CONSTITUTION: The electrode 3 consisting of the noble metals are provided to a part of the printed part 2 of the printed wiring board 1 where a copper layer is formed. For example, the 1st electrode 3a is formed by plating platinum to a part of the printed part 2 and immobilizing directly enzyme such as glucose oxidase thereon. The 2nd electrode 3b is formed by plating silver to a part of the printed part 2 and treating the surface thereof with Cl to form AgCl. The 3rd electrode 3c is formed by only the plating of platinum to a part of the printed part 2 and is used as the electrode to detect only the reducing mate rial such as ascorbic acid contained in the liquid to be examined. Part except the electrodes 3 is coated and insulated by an insulator 4. The biosensor of the electrode type is thus made simple in construction and smaller in size. Since the electrodes consist of the noble metals, the electrodes are resistant to corrosion and the long-term stable use is possible. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
