PURPOSE: To obtain the titled resin with grafted rubber particles homogeneously dispersed, by incorporating a thermoplastic resin in the organic phase made by separating aqueous phase from a mixture comprising grafted rubber polymer latex, organic chemical and coagulating agent, followed by separation of said organic chemical. n CONSTITUTION: First, a two-phase mixture is prepared by mixing a graft polymer latex prepared by graft polymerization of a vinyl monomer (e.g., acrylonitrile) to rubber latex with (A) 0.1W6wt. times, based on the whole polymer, of an organic chemical with a solubility at 25°C to water ≤5wt%, dissolvable for the thermoplastic resin described below (e.g., petroleum ether) and (B) ≤5wt%, based on the graft polymer, of a water-soluble chemical capable of coagulating the latex (e.g., aluminum sulfate). Next, the aqueous phase is separated from the above mixture, the resultant organic phase being incorporated with (C) a thermoplastic resin 9e.g., acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer) followed by separation of the organic chemical and residual water from the resulting organic phase mixture, thus obtaining the objective resin. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
