titleOfInvention Production of synthetic rubber
abstract PURPOSE: To produce a synthetic rubber having desired molecular weight distribution without changing the kind and concentration of the catalyst, easily and continuously, by adding a polymerization terminator in a laminar flow zone to a polymerization reaction liquid taken out of a polymerizer, and stirring the mixture under controlled condition. n CONSTITUTION: A synthetic rubber (e.g. ethylene-α-olefin rubber) is produced by polymerizing the monomers usually at 10W60°C and 0W20kgG/cm 2 pressure in the presence of a polymerization catalyst composed mainly of a transition metal compound (e.g. vanadium oxytrichloride) and an organic Al compound (e.g. trialkylaluminum), terminating the polymerization reaction by adding a polymerization terminal such as water to the polymerization reaction liquid discharged from the polymerizer, and recovering the produced polymer. In the above process, said polymerization terminator is added to a laminar flow zone and the stirring condition is varied to keep a laminar flow preferably having a Raynolds number of 600W1,600. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
