titleOfInvention Production of ethyl ester of fatty acid
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled colorless and odorless compound of high purity from natural product resources, by removing efficiently odor like soy sauce and dark brown dyestuff from soy sauce oil which is a by-product in producing soy sauce as a raw material by distillation under reduced pressure using combination of decoloring and deodorizing steps. n CONSTITUTION: Soy sauce oil is distilled under ≤60mmHg, preferably ≤4mmHg reduced pressure while warming or heating by the vacuum distillation method, etc., from the viewpoint of purification effect and production cost, as necessary, blowing steam, etc., thereinto, and the evolved vapor is cooled and condensed to collect only the distillate of the main fraction. Activated carbon is then added thereto, and the resultant distillate is purified by allowing to stand while stirring at about 20°C for ≥2hr, filtration, etc., to afford the aimed natural compound having ≥90% purity. n EFFECT: The soy cause oil is effectively utilized and the aimed compound containing ethyl linoleate and ethyl linolenate having powderful antimutagenicity is obtained without using the synthetic method. n USE: Various raw materials or additives for cosmetics, foods, medicines, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
