titleOfInvention Improved polyolefin resin particle and its production
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled resin particles having a halogenated surface and containing an easily volatile blowing agent, by impregnating polyolefin particles with an easily volatile blowing agent in water and irradiating them with ultraviolet rays in the presence of a halogen gas. n CONSTITUTION: Polyolefin resin particles are dispersed in water and irradiated with ultraviolet rays in the presence of a halogen gas to halogenate the surfaces of the particles. Examples of the polyolefin resin particles used include low- density polyethylene, high-density polyethylene, linear low-density polyethylene, polypropylene, ethylene/propylene random copolymer and ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer. Examples of the easily volatile blowing agents include propylene, butane, pentane, hexane, Freon 11 and Freon 114. The amount of the blowing agent is preferably 3W30wt% based on the resin. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
