abstract PURPOSE:The title composition that is obtained by adding a flame retardant to a polymer mixture of a high-pressure, low-density polyethylene and a specific ethylene-alpha-olefin copolymer, thus being suitable for used as an electrical material, because it shows high heat resistance, mechanical properties, electrical properties and flexibility. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of the resin components consisting of (A) 10-90wt% of high-pressure, low-density polyethylene, (B) 90-10wt% of a copolymer from ethylene and an alpha-olefin, preferably propylene or butene-1 with a catalyst containing a solid component of Mg and Ti and an organoaluminum component, which has a density of 0.86-0.91g/cm<3>, having more than 10% of the fraction insoluble in boiling n-hexane and the maximum peak higher 100 deg.C in the differential scanning calorimetry, are combined with 5-200pts.wt. of at least one selected from flame retarders consisting of halogen retarders, and inorganic metal compound hydrates and, when necessary, 0-100pts.wt. of an inorganic filler.
