abstract | PURPOSE: A flame-retardant resin composition which has excellent mechanical characteristics, does not suffer blooming, and is obtained by incorporating an organic halogen compound into a straight-chain polyethylene of a specified density prepared by a medium-to-low-pressure process or a resin mainly consisting thereof. n CONSTITUTION: The titled composition is obtained by incorporating at least 5pts.wt. organic halogen compound [e.g. decabromodiphenyl ether or dodecachlorododecahydrodimethinodibenzocyclooctene (Dechlorane Plus from Hooker Chemical Co.)] into 100pts.wt. straight-chain polyethylene of a density of 0.935g/ cm 3 or lower prepared by a medium-to-low-pressure process or a resin consisting mainly thereof.
