titleOfInvention Flame-retardant aromatic polyester composition
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a compsn. which has excellent flame retardance and flow characteristics during molding and gives moldings having good appearances and mechanical properties, by blending an organobromine compd., antimony trioxide and a phenolic resin powder with an arom. polyester. n CONSTITUTION: A compsn. is obtd. by blending 0W200pts.wt. filler (A), 1W60pts. wt. organobromine compd. (B), 1W40pts.wt. antimony trioxide (C) and 0.5W40pts. wt. phenolic resin powder (D) having a particle size of 0.1W150μ with 100pts.wt. arom. polyester (E). As the arom. polyester, polybutylene terephthalate and polyethylene terephthalate are preferred, because they have well-balanced properties between mechanical properties and moldability. As the filler, glass fiber is particularly preferred. As the organobromine compd., brominated polycarbonates whose terminals are blocked with a monohydric phenol such as tribromophenol are preferred. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
