abstract | PURPOSE: The title backing material that is obtained by combining a monomer resulting from esterification of a fluorine-containing oligomer with acrylic chlo ride with a fluorine-containing copolymer and adding photosenstizer to the mixture, thus being fluid during operations and curable with light irradiation thereafter. n CONSTITUTION: The objective flexible denture-backing material is obtained by kneading a mixture which is composed of 100pts.wt. of a monomer of the formula (R 1 is H, methyl; R 2 is a fluorine-containing oligomer of less than 1,405 molecular weight, 1W30pts.wt. of a fluorine-containing copolymer, which is preferably composed of vinylidene chloride, vinyl fluoride and trichloro- ethylene together with 0.01W2pts.wt. of a photosensitizer such as camphor quinone or fluorenone into a paste or putty. Since the product is pasty or putty, it is fluid, during processing and light is irradiated, after completion of back-lining on the denture, to effect cold polymerization into a solid of appropriate elasticity and ideal hardness. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
