abstract PURPOSE: To facilitate industrial production of the titled aqueous solution, by mixing an inorganic solvent solution of a specified polyester resin with an aqueous alkali solution, leaving the mixture standing to separate it into two layers and separating the aqueous layer. n CONSTITUTION: A solution obtained by dissolving 10W60wt% polyester resin having at least 10KOHmg/g of carboxyl groups and/or sulfonic acid groups in at least one substantially water-immiscible organic solvent selected from among toluene, xylene, trichloroethylene and perchloroethylene is mixed with an aqueous alkali solution (e.g., aqueous NaOH solution) and the combined solution is left standing to separate it into two layers.
