titleOfInvention Transparent medium for recording
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a transparent recorded medium by a printing means, by a method wherein a transparent base is provided with a surface capable of being dissolved in or swelled with a specified high boiling point solvent, and the visible ray transmittance thereof is set to be not lower than 80%. CONSTITUTION:A high boiling point solvent having a vapor pressure at 20 deg.C of not higher than 1mmHg is used as an ink (e.g., an ink for an ink ribbon) in a printing means of the ink jet system, an impact system or other system. A composition comprising as a main constituent a resin capable of being dissolved in or wetted with the solvent is provided on a surface of the transparent base (e.g., by coating), and while maintaining transparency, characters or figures formed on the surface of the base by a printing means are fixed. Therefore, the resin is one having excellent transparency, e.g., cellulose acetate or cellulose acetate butyrate, and the base is a transparent synthetic resin film, a transparent paper or the like, preferably, the one having a visible ray transmittance of not lower than 90%.
