PURPOSE: The titled composition, consisting of a silicone rubber, hydrophilic or water-soluble organosilane or organosiloxane and water-absorbing polymer, having the original characteristics of the silicone rubber and improved water- absorbing properties. n CONSTITUTION: A water-absorbing silicone rubber composition, obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. thermosetting silicone rubber compound, prepared by incorporating a silicone rubber, e.g. methylvinylsiloxane raw rubber, with silica prepared by the wet method or a mixture thereof with another synthetic rubber or thermoplastic resin, with (B) 1W20pts.wt., preferably 3W15pts.wt. hydrophilic or water-soluble organosilane or organosiloxane, e.g. polyether- modified organosilane or organosiloxane, and (C) 5W100tpts.wt. synthetic or semisynthetic water-absorbing polymer, preferably crosslinked sodium polyacrylate or methyl acrylate-vinyl alcohol copolymer based polymer and having ≤300μm average particle diameter. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
