titleOfInvention Unsaturated polyester resin composition
abstract PURPOSE: The titled resin composition which has low volumetric shrinkage on curing and gives a translucent cured article without causing opacification, prepared by incorporating a styrene-dicyclopentadiene copolymer into an unsaturated polyester resin. n CONSTITUTION: An unsaturated polyester resin is prepared by mixing 25W95pts. wt. unsaturated polyester (a number-average molecular weight of about 1,000W 4,000) and 75W5pts.wt. α,β-ethylenically unsaturated monomer (e.g. styrene, methyl (meth)acrylate or diallyl phthalate). 2W70pts.wt. styrene-dicyclopentadiene copolymer (styrene:dicyclopentadiene≈100:0.5W50) is incorporated into 100pts.wt. resin above-mentioned to give the titled resin composition. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
