titleOfInvention Aqueous emulsified dispersion of polymer and its production
abstract PURPOSE: To facilitate the formation of an aqueous emulsified dispersion of fine particles of a crystalline polymer having a high proportion of unsaturated hydrocarbon groups in the side chains, by adding stepwise two specified catalyst components to the reaction system and emulsion-polymerizing a conjugated diene monomer in the reaction system. n CONSTITUTION: A cobalt compound (e.g., cobalt caprylate) is reacted, by contact, with an organometallic compound or hydride of a Group I WIII metal of the periodic table in the presence of 1W1,000mol, per mol of the cobalt compound, of a conjugated diene compound (e.g., butadiene). The resulting first catalyst component solution is emulsified by dispersion in water in the presence of an emulsifier. To this dispersion, a conjugated diene monomer and a second catalyst components comprising a sulfur compound such as carbon disulfide or phenyl isothiocyanate are added, and the whole is polymerized to obtain an aqueous emulsion dispersion of particles (average particle diameter ≤5μm) of a crystalline polymer having at least 70% unsaturated hydrocarbon groups in the side chains and a m.p. ≥70°C. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
