titleOfInvention Dermatic agent for external use
abstract PURPOSE:To provide an external agent for skin, containing a cationic surfactant in combination with a specific hydroquinone glucoside, having suppressed irritation of the surfactant to the skin, especially to the eye, and useful as cosmetic, medicinal drug, quasi-drug, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent is produced by adding (A) one or more hydroquinone glucoside of formula (R is pentose or hexose residue, amino acid residue, uronic acid residue or their methylated group), especially hydroquinone-beta-D-glucoside (arbutin) to (B) an external agent for skin (especially cosmetic or quasi-drug for scalp and hair) containing generally 0.1-20wt% one or more cationic surfactants such as stearyltrimethyl-ammonium chloride and benzalkonium chloride, etc., having excellent bactericidal and bacteriostatic effect as well as rinsing effect to the hair. The amount of the component A is 0.1-30wt%, especially 6-20wt% based on the whole composition. The skin irritation can be mitigated and the damage to the skin and eye can be prevented.
