abstract PURPOSE: To provide a sufficient blood coagulating property at a low cost along with a stability against mixing without any morphological deformation blood cells, by arranging alkaline metal or an alkali earth metal salt of a fatty or aromatic insaturated carboxylate with 1W20C having carboxylate group as main component. n CONSTITUTION: This anticoagulant is mainly composed of alkaline metal or an alkali earth metal salt of a fatty or aromatic insaturated carboxylate poly mer with 1W20C having one or three carboxylate groups The insaturated carboxylate herein used is preferably acrylic acid or methacrylic acid. The polymer of the insaturated carboxylate can be a copolymer with another polymerizable monomer only if containing more than 60mol% of carboxylic acid. The alkaline metal herein used is preferably sodium hydroxide or potassi um hydroxide.
