abstract | NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R is group formula IIW formula IV; R 1 and R 2 are methyl or hydroxymethyl; R 3 is methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, iso- propyl, n-pentyl, benzyl, ethynyl, etc.). n EXAMPLE: 1,4-Dihydro-α-naphthoic acid tert-butylamide. n USE: Herbicide effective against the weeds in paddy field (e.g. cockspur-grass, bulrush, etc.) and in plowed land (e.g. large crab-grass, wild spinach, etc.). It exhibits high ativity at a low dose especially in paddy field and has no phytotoxicity in spite of high activity. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting the compound of formula RCOZ [Z is OR 4 or halogen (R 4 is H or 1W10C alkyl)] with the amine compound of formula V in the absence of solvent or in an organic solvent, optionally in the presence of a base (e.g. sodium hydroxide) at 0W200°C for 0.1W5hr. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
