| abstract | NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R is group formula IIW formula IV; R 1 and R 2 are methyl or hydroxymethyl; R 3 is methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, iso- propyl, n-pentyl, benzyl, ethynyl, etc.). n EXAMPLE: 1,4-Dihydro-α-naphthoic acid tert-butylamide. n USE: Herbicide effective against the weeds in paddy field (e.g. cockspur-grass, bulrush, etc.) and in plowed land (e.g. large crab-grass, wild spinach, etc.).
