abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled additive capable of reducing the water content of a water-slurried coal and providing a slurry having an excellent flowability, by incorporating a specific surface active agent. n CONSTITUTION: A surface active agent having a molecular weight of 1,000 or higher and comprising a copolymer prepared by copolymerizing 40W10wt% propylene oxide with 60W90wt% ethylene oxide is optionally incorporated with an anionic, cationic, nonionic or ampholytic surface active agent to obtain an additive for a water-slurried coal.
