titleOfInvention Two-color forming thermal recording material
abstract PURPOSE:To provide the title thermal recording material having sufficient color erasing effect and good two-color separability and generating no color mixing in a high temp. developed color image, by using a color forming system consisting of a basic leuco dye and a coupler in the second thermal color forming layer forming the upper layer of two thermal color forming layers and setting the compounding ratio of said leuco dye and the coupler to 1:1-1:2.5. CONSTITUTION:The color former used in a second thermal color forming layer may be one forming a stable image by low energy heating and forming an image easy to rapidly erase by a color erasing agent by high energy heating and a basic leuco dye is used. As the basic leuco dye adapted to this kind of the thermal material, for example, the leuco compound of the dye belonging to a triphenylmethane, a fluorane, a phenothiazine, an auramine or spiropyrane type is pref. used. The thermal recording material can be obtained by a method wherein a solution having a color developable dye, a coupler, a color erasing agent and a binder dispersed or disolved therein is applied to a support such as paper, synthetic paper or a plastic film to be dried and this process is repeated.
