abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (A is phenyl, substituted phenyl or naphthyl; R 1 is H, or lower alkyl; R 2 is H, alkyl, or haloalkyl). n EXAMPLE: α-Benzoylamino-propalgyloxyacetthioamide. n USE: A herbicide and an agricultural and horticultural fungicide showing weeding effects especially on weeds in paddy fields, and improved controlling action on phytophthora rot, black shank, late blight, downy mildew, dampling-off, etc., of various crops with a small amount of the agents in a low concentration. The agents can be obtained in a short process easily in high yield. n PREPARATION: An acylaminoacetonitrile derivative shown by the formula II is reacted with gaseous hydrogen sulfide in the presence of a tertiary amine catalyst (e.g., triethylamine) in a proper solvent at -20W100°C, preferably 20W50°C, to give a compound shown by the formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
